The plan to make a Business Plan

http://howtowriteabusinessplan.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/how-to-write-a-business-plan-logo-large.png
Ever tried to write a business plan? Do you even know how to do one? Properly? I don’t, and that’s way I’m currently learning.
There are many ways to do a business plan, many theories and even more experts.

I recently came across an article from Inc.com that debates the idea of having one. They called in two experts, each defending one side. David F. McShea, a partner at the law firm Perkins Coie, says “Absolutely yes!” and Will Hsu, co-founder of the LA-based start-up accelerator Mucker Lab, says “Absolutely no!”
It’s interesting seeing too opposite answers make so much sense in their own way.

Behold: Marvel Cinematic Universe, Phase 3

http://schmoesknow.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/marvel-cinematic-universe-phase-3-copy.jpg
A week ago, I wrote a little about the never-ending battle between the comic book giants: Marvel and DC.
It seems that earlier this week, Marvel decided to up the ante with a massive event detailing The Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase 3.

Marvel vs. DC

http://cdn.fansided.com/wp-content/blogs.dir/308/files/2013/12/Marvel-DC-logo.jpg
This battle has been going on for as long as both this companies have been alive. For those of you who don’t know who they are, I will tell you. Nevertheless, you should know them. Seriously, you should! Both of them were originally comic book publishers, and that was it. That was all they did, and they were very good at it.
Now, they are huge entertainment companies. And when I say huge, I mean amongst the biggest out there.

Lawsuit: A New Kind of Reality

http://www.rabbanlaw.com/images/Premise-Liability.jpg
Legal liability, this is something we hear everywhere, all the time, in any given industry. Especially in the United States of America. It is considered the greatest country on earth, or so the slogan says. It is also the most litigious society on the planet. You cannot slip on an icy sidewalk without having the opportunity to sue the city, the store responsible for the sidewalk, and probably the little old lady that just watched while you fell on your sweet little ass.
It is not just the sidewalks around here that can be victims of lawsuits, but also every other thing around. Yes, I said “thing.” Moreover, the same is true for reality television. This industry is so opened to lawsuits that MSN Entertainment has an article dedicated to this specific subject, entitled “Reality TV lawsuits.”

The Beauty & Wonder of Free Events

http://s3.amazonaws.com/bandw-gallery/large/35634/Morning_Calm.jpg?1337091650
We all love to attend events, see shows, listen to concerts, and tour museums. We may not like all of the above, but we surely like at least one of them. Especially if it is free. Am I right?
Well, I’m here to talk to you about two of those. Both very different from each other, but both of them free.

A lesson from Simon Sinek

I was recently introduced to a very smart man, a man by the name of Simon Sinek. Simon is considered to be a leadership expert and has a theory entitled the Golden Circle, which is the subject of his TED Talk. A video I encourage everyone to watch.

Zipline Green and 1MillionCups

http://www.emergingprairie.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/1MC_Logo.jpg
I was recently introduced to something called 1MillionCups, and it is a very cool idea. It is sort of a “Shark Tank” but without sharks. It happens all around the United States, and it is a way to help and incentivize entrepreneurship. After reading about it, I chose a video (business pitch) to analyze a little bit.

‘Yes’, ‘No’, and everything in between.

We all know about the importance of Negotiation and Deal-Making, and we used everyday not even realizing we are doing it. We used on the phone with our Internet provider, we used with our friends when deciding what to do one evening or where to go on vacation. We used it with our teachers, our students and our families. We used it, most of all, in our everyday jobs, no matter what it is.
These next videos are perfect examples of the use and importance of negotiation skills.

The Wonderful World of Movies (Marketing)

http://www.thesoobproductions.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/movie-money-film-reel.ju_.09.jpg
We are used to seeing big blockbusters with big production budgets that, ultimately, make a lot of people a lot of money. But how does that work, you might ask. Why do some movies do better than other at the box office?

Lauren Zalaznick: The conscience of television

The subject of consciousness in television is something that a lot of us think about. What shows to we watch? What am I in the mood for? Comedy, drama or reality? These are all questions the follow us each time we turn on this magic box. It is something that has only been around for sixty years and it started as a commodity. It would stay in the living room where everyone would watch and nobody thought of owning more than one television set.

How We Met Their Mother

The subject of this week’s blog post is the very sad, very funny, very disappointing, and also very fulfilling finale of the show “How I Met YourMother”, or simply known to fans as HIMYM.
I need to warn you, spoilers are coming after this, so if you don’t want to know what happens or are still waiting to see it, I suggest reading this after you’ve watched it.

300: Rise of a Disappointment

I was overly excited to go see 300: Rise of an Empire, I mean, the first one was an awesome movie, beautifully directed by Zack Snyder. The storyline was compelling and the graphics just blew your mind away. This was my mindset walking in to the theatre last Saturday night.
